Process

For RIBA Regent Street Windows 2014, vPPR Architects filled Aquascutum’s shop windows with moving clouds, referencing its Latin meaning, “water shield,”” and celebrating the austere beauty of Britain’s overcast skies and its unpredictable weather. Vivid bursts of blues and maroons from this season’s colour palette grow like clouds out of the atmospheric backdrop, complementing the new autumn clothing range on display.

The animation is created using large format lenticular printing techniques, where the visible image changes in relation to the position of the viewer. Both subtle and spectacular, the animated clouds unexpectedly swirl around as traffic and the public pass by.
