Novosibirsk Airport

Inspired by ice, the new airport is navigated through a series of increasingly fragmented geometric soffits.

Exploring the complex geometries of seasonal sea ice, the interiors of the new extension in Novosibirsk Airport are imagined as a sequence of fragmented ice structures expressed in the proposed ceiling and reflected floor patterns. The geometries draw people through the space and create unique identities to each airport zone, from waiting area, departure lounge, passport control and arrivals.
