The design intent is to create elegant a smart architectural addition to Oak Lane with 3no x 4-bedroom terraced houses, each with a basement and large garden. The houses are family-sized and include a study, appropriate to post-pandemic living.

The facade creates an elegant addition to the streetscape on Oak Lane, using London stock brick, with considered coursing patterns, and render or concrete details around the entrance door. The upper level is slightly set back and is clad in metal, signalling the roof level.

The proposal is intended to create an elegant street frontage to Oak Lane that pick up on historic details in the local area, set back further from the street, and to maximise the site’s potential as post-pandemic family sized homes with the addition of a basement, and larger gardens.

The proposed design has a distinct identity, yet is also contextual through the height, massing and materiality.
